Warrior Ice Cream

Many people that are in training or on a strict diet usually have a difficult time finding adequate desert type foods, especially vegans.  There is always some variation of fruit that can be readily prepared for a desert, but it's packed with sugar.  What if you could have your cake and eat it too?, I was looking for something to satisfy my sweet tooth in the evenings while moving me towards my goal.  It lead me on a interesting crusade that started with what I wanted to achieve, lose fat and build muscle. High quality, low calories, low fat, protein packed, great taste, versatility and variety were traits I considered a must.
Friendly Fats, Almond Milk, Warrior Food

The first variation is basic and starts with  1.5 T Warrior Food Vanilla Enhanced protein, mixed with 8oz of vanilla almond milk (sweetened or unsweetened), and 1 tsp of Friendly Fats.  I mix it in a blender bottle and pour it into a bowl, depending on the consistency you want it should take between 2-4 hours in the freezer.  This trio also makes up my everyday morning and post workout  protein shake, in slightly different quantities.  I like this combination for all the BCAA's , Omega 3's, Omega 6's, and whole food content. The Friendly Fats which is simply sprouted flax and sprouted chia gives me a nice energy boost and has the EFA's.  The Hemp protein in the Warrior Food gives this a nice nutty flavor in addition to the ground vanilla bean. The stats on this exact recipe look like this:
159.5 Calories, 13 g Protein, 20 g Carbs, 4 g Fat, and as you know all calories are not created equal. These are solid, whole food and Super food derived calories.
Warrior Ice Cream

From here you can really start to experiment with different variations and additives, one of my favorites is to add some ground carob or a little acai.  Another great addition is to put in a banana and make yourself a "Warrior Banana Split" with some carob/agave syrup. Enjoy meeting your goals while still enjoying desert and let me know what YOU come up with!

Encinitas Sports Festival

This was an awesome event that took place over two days in beautiful Encinitas, CA.  The two day event featured plenty of competition with a triathlon, ocean swim, bike tour, 5k run, paddle board race, and expo.  We had two runners from Heathforce compete and place in the top 100 out of 1500 in the 5k.  Our mission is to spread the word that that no matter what sport you compete in you can thrive and dominate on a plant based diet.  Meat eaters beware! were coming for your gold.

Below is a short video of a few vendors at the event.
